Generic collections proposal lands, passkey package proposed
The container/ proposal for generic collection types in the standard library is drawing the day's attention, with a working group formed late last year now putting concrete data structures up for discussion and a mix of surprise and approval in the community threads. Alongside it, Filippo Valsorda has floated a crypto/passkey package to bring WebAuthn discoverable credentials into the standard library, which pairs neatly with the collections work as a sign of how much scope the stdlib is being asked to absorb. Elsewhere, a developer walks through getting a first patch merged into k9s three weeks after picking up Go, which is a nice counterweight to the proposal-heavy reading list.
