"Lies we tell ourselves to keep using Golang" makes the rounds again

The loudest thing in the Go corner of the web is fasterthanli.me's "Lies we tell ourselves to keep using Golang," a follow-up to the author's earlier "I want off Mr Golang's Wild Ride" that keeps resurfacing on Reddit, Lobsters and HN and still provokes the same arguments every time. If that leaves a sour taste, there is a gentler companion piece in the form of a writeup on forking tsc to add Go-style defer to the TypeScript compiler, which is at least an unambiguous compliment to the language.
